From Startup Macon:

Startup-Macon is overseen by SparkMacon for the benefit of all Macon entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship Assistance Organizations (ESOs), thanks to a $250,000 donation from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation This is a newly created program. This program aims to serve you in three aspects:

  • By assessing the needs of active entrepreneurs and individuals seeking entrepreneurial breakthroughs and addressing those needs by establishing links with appropriate local resources and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (ESOs); meet that need.
  • Connect all local ESOs to give Macon entrepreneurs local access to key programming and resources.
  • Startup-Macon acts as a community-wide brand for entrepreneurship, promoting Macon’s entrepreneurial community locally, regionally and statewide to attract entrepreneurs and resources to Macon.

To help achieve these three goals, Startup-Macon is proud to have hired Heaven Whitby as Director and Community Navigator. Haven is a proud Macon entrepreneur who is passionate about her community and supports entrepreneurs. Heaven works daily with entrepreneurs across the community to ensure they get the support they need and to track their growth and impact on Macon.

“Macon has a lot of creativity, innovation and opportunity.

SparkMacon Director Robert Grant said: We look forward to seeing her move from being part of that ecosystem to becoming a leader within it. “

Startup-Macon is also a 24/7 resource for entrepreneurs. This community he ecosystem website is dedicated to educating and connecting entrepreneurs with all local ESOs, their services and support. The site also provides a central calendar of programming and events for entrepreneurs, as well as a platform for entrepreneurs to digitally engage with each other.
