Zimbabwean-born entrepreneur and Afro-German business consultant Kumbilai Chipadza was named Best African Business in Germany 2022 for his outstanding role in building links between Zimbabwean entrepreneurs and German businesses. / Chosen as an entrepreneur.
He was also selected by the German government as one of 40 young African-German business leaders to promote economic cooperation between Africa and Germany under the AGYLE programme.
Mr Chipaza was awarded the top prize ahead of other German-based African entrepreneurs at the prestigious AFRONEWS — Ortel Mobile African Community in Germany Awards Gala Night in Eschborn over the weekend.
He is the founder and CEO of Deutsch Connect. Deutsch Connect is a start-up that connects African and German companies through business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, market collaboration and talent acquisition.
Among other success stories for 2022, Deutsch Connect introduced German machine and chain manufacturer Poema.de to the African market, as well as a German ecosystem tour for African companies in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). held.
This is in addition to teaching German and finding apprenticeship places in Germany for young Africans.
Chipaza emphasized that budding entrepreneurs must continue to persevere toward their ultimate goal and become game-changers in the mainstream economy.

The award was also presented for Best African Radio Station in Germany 2022, Best African Writer, Best African Gastronomy – Restaurant/Caterer and Best African Fashion Designer in Europe.
Other awards were Germany’s Best African Event Organizer, Germany’s Best African Actor, Germany’s Best African Television Personality, Germany’s Best African Association and Germany’s Best African Teacher or Coach.
