UTSA Business Development Center Receives Grant to Support New Braunfels Entrepreneurs

October 27, 2022 — The New Braunfels City Council recently awarded a $210,000 grant to enable the UTSA Small Business Development Center (SBDC) New Braunfels office to continue providing critical services to start-up and growing businesses. approved. Grants will be provided to Spark Small Business Center by the City of New Braunfels and the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation. Spark Small Business Center then funded his UTSA SBDC.

The UTSA SBDC office in New Braunfels is operated under an annual contract with the Spark Small Business Center, providing free, free access to business owners and entrepreneurs looking to start or build an existing business. We offer advice, market research, referrals and workshops.

Advice is one-on-one and confidential. The workshop is aimed at small businesses and prospective small business owners. Clients in need of professional services can also be referred within SBDC’s extensive network.

During fiscal 2022, the New Braunfels Center served 573 customers, hosted 21 training events, helped start or expand 21 businesses, and created 60 new jobs. 75 jobs were maintained through the work of this office. Over the year, a total capital injection of $5,584,400 was achieved for these New Braunfels business clients.
