South Lake Tahoe, Calif. – The first meeting of the new Tahoe Inc. Entrepreneur Roundtable series will be held on Monday, October 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Round Hill’s Untethered Workspace. The series is free to join.

Each month, local entrepreneurs and small business owners have the opportunity to meet and connect in a peer-to-peer mentoring series held in partnership with local coworking spaces Untethered and Cowork Tahoe.

The November meeting will be held at CoWork Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe. Each month, we will alternate between two coworking spaces to increase access and better serve the entire South Shore community of entrepreneurs and small business owners. The next phase of the program will include a launch in North Lake Tahoe serving communities along the North Shore and Truckee.

“These sessions not only enable peer-to-peer mentoring, but also connect local entrepreneurs and small business owners with additional resources such as the Sierra Business Council, the Small Business Development Center run by Startup Sacramento & Startup. It works as a method, said Dr. Jamie Orr, co-founder of Untethered and Cowork Tahoe and leader of Tahoe Inc.

Research shows Tahoe is home to a growing number of entrepreneurs, executive business leaders, start-ups and investors who are drawn to the area for its world-class outdoor recreation and unparalleled lake beauty. Together, these residents form a vibrant and thriving startup community. Launched this fall, Tahoe Inc. aims to bring this innovation ecosystem together through an easy-to-use digital network, events, and activities.

Before Tahoe Inc. was founded, Tahoe had little systematic support for entrepreneurs and individuals looking to start or grow a business. The effects of the pandemic, the Kaldor fires, and the dramatic changes in the economy and environment were alarm bells. Local business, government, education, community and tribal leaders have all come together through an initiative called Envision Tahoe to provide diverse avenues to new career opportunities and empower Tahoe workers to live locally and raise families. Laid a foundation for a more resilient Tahoe that can support. .

As part of its broader community engagement efforts, Envision Tahoe has produced an 80-page economic “playbook” containing point-by-point strategies to foster a stronger and more diverse economy that is fit for Tahoe. Promoting economic resilience, maintaining a permanent workforce, and promoting an inclusive economy. Tahoe Inc. is one of the strategies of economic strategy.
