The Colorado Secretary of State’s office said Monday whether Garfield County Sheriff Lou Ballario violated campaign finance laws by using public resources from his office to support U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert. said it was investigating.

David Wheeler filed a complaint against Vallario in late August.Wheeler is the head of the American McCrakers, the Political Action Committee seeking to remove Boebert. He accused the sheriff of using his public office and email accounts to urge voters to support Beaubert and defaming the first Republican opponent.
