KIEV (Reuters) – Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmykhal thanked the U.S. for help on Saturday after Ukraine received another $1.5 billion in international financial aid.

“Ukrainian state budget received $1.5 billion in grants. This is the last tranche of $4.5 billion in aid from the US through @WorldBank Trust Fund,” Shmichal tweeted.

He said the funds will be used to repay pension payments and social assistance program budget expenditures.
